A rondo (or round) is a piece of music which has one main theme that is heard several times, often with variations. If you've ever witnessed a "banditry" of chickadees, you've heard the rounds of "chick-a-dee-dee-dee" as they call to one another in the trees. Chickadee Rondo is part of a series celebrating the life of birds that frequent our garden feeders. The chickadee, nuthatch and goldfinch are familiar and beloved species for most of us in the Western States. In honor of the joy this twinged-trio brings through their songs and playful antics, I’ve given each a musical title.
